We are embarking on a crucial endeavor to establish a resource center aimed at empowering the deaf community in Tanzania. Through this initiative, CHAVITA will provide essential training in sign language, ICT, business management, and vocational skills. Your generous contributions will enable us to construct and furnish this vital resource center, develop necessary training materials, and engage qualified instructors.
Our target is to benefit approximately 1,845 individuals, with a focus on enhancing opportunities for the deaf. While the project aims to serve both the deaf community and hearing individuals, it is anticipated that about 90% of the beneficiaries will be from the deaf community.
This project holds immense potential to address the social and economic challenges faced by the deaf population. By equipping them with sign language skills, we aim to enhance their ability to interact within their community and beyond. Improved communication will facilitate their access to social and economic opportunities. Furthermore, ICT training will empower them to access information on available economic prospects. Technical and business training will equip deaf individuals with the skills necessary to initiate and enhance their own businesses.
